Make a note on the lesson plan with the resources you’ll need and when you’ll need them. Make sure you add these to the lesson plan so that you don’t miss anything. Whatever subject you’re teaching, it’s difficult to remember all the dates, facts and figures and little snippets of information that will engage your students. Ofsted looks to see that new vocabulary is being learnt, so make sure that you’ve considered the new vocabulary that can be learnt during a particular lesson in your plan. You need to ensure that the lesson plan is inclusive of all your students’ abilities. Differentiate where necessary when planning. Make sure that you include all the students in these steps. The achievable steps that it will take to attain the lesson objective Highlight the aims and objectives throughout the lesson plan. Your aim should be inline with the government curriculum for that subject. What the students will learn (the aim, goal or lesson objective) It’s also helpful to look ahead and consider future lessons. So the lesson plan must take this into account. Ofsted states that teachers require a good comprehension of what the class learnt in previous years. As Ofsted is actively looking for outstanding lessons which are well prepared for, lesson plans are also beneficial for the entire school. And teachers will benefit from added confidence and the opportunity to reuse and make changes to the lesson plans if something didn’t work out. Everyone will also gain from the differentiation prepared for different types of learners and those students who are struggling in class. Teachers and students will all benefit from lesson plans providing goals and objectives, time management and assessment opportunities. I really hope you enjoy it as you begin to use it in your lessons, maybe you’ll update your review once you have a proper look.11th August 2020 A Beginner’s Guide To Lesson Planning I’m slightly disappointed that you decided to leave a 2 star review as soon as you received the Planner without looking at any of the content. In fact, many instructors are still using the original near-15-year-old version of this. I used (a very old version of) this planner in one of these folders in every lesson I taught for many years – if you look after it it should absolutely stand the test of time. Pouches also open up the possibility for the Planner to be updated in the future as the law, technology and coaching methods change and develop. Firstly, laminating would make the product more expensive. There are a few reasons why we chose to use pouches rather than laminating the pages. I can assure you that the sleeves are perfectly suitable for writing on with dry-wipe markers and will come off perfectly – it’s been properly tested and we wouldn’t advertise it as suitable for dry-wipe if that wasn’t the case.
